This is my work for the week.
Hey bloggers, this week we are learning about Afghanistan. We had to read a journal and watch two videos. We had a vocabulary task, comprehension questions, an audio recording, and last but not least, we had to do a blog showing our work.
(I would not like to share my audio recording anyway bye!!!!!!)
Hey bloggers!
In the past two weeks in literacy and social studies, we have been looking at the Māori culture, “Pōhā”, which refers to a traditional food preservation such as Mutton bird, which is kept in a special type of kelp to keep it fresh for over two years. This technique involves placing food, particularly birds, into a blow-up seedweed which can reach up to 10 meters, allowing it to retain moisture and flavor during cooking and preserving, often by wrapping it in some flax and Tōtara bark, which is used to cover and protect the inflated kelp bags. Pōhā showcases the Māori connection to the land and sea, highlighting their resourcefulness in using natural materials and reflecting cultural practices around community and shared meals. But for this week, we have been looking at mutton birding. We were given a few tasks to complete, like a Google Doc, drawing, e.t.c. And last but not least, here they are in all their glory.
29 April 2025 term 2 week 1
Hey bloggers, long time no see!. For the first week of term 2, we are focusing on James Cook!. We have a range of levels we can choose from: Ace, Pro, Legend, and Titan, which are all colour-coded. I decided to do Titan and had to read a 6-page journal, two videos from 7 to 15 minutes, and a follow-up task that asked us questions from the book. After we have done all of that, we can go to a blog post and then check it off the Mahi tracker, which tracks our work.
Last but not least, here is my work!. (It was done in a Google Doc.)
Sadly, we had to do a clip of us reading the text, so here is the recording. 😭
